Wallowa River Rafting
Rafting the Wallowa River is perfect for those seeking an enjoyable day of fishing, scenery, fun on the water, or just entertaining the kids and the family in the outdoors. Although the river gradient is steep, there is little whitewater or challenging rapids along the way. However, the quick current keeps things exciting as every bend provides a new view of the river and surrounding beauty. There is a 5 and 10-mile float option that both finish at the Minam Store, allowing for this float to take up either the better part of the day or just a couple hours.
Due to the seasonal changes in river flows, we recommend this float from March through July depending on the amount of water. For those who feel comfortable in their ability to navigate a raft, we offer rentals so you can do it yourself. For those who have not rowed, want to learn with a lesson, or just want to sit back and relax while taking in the scenery, a guided day-trip is a great way to pass a spring or summer day with the family. When you book a day-trip, all you have to do is show up at the Minam Store and we'll take care of the rest.
Although our day trips end at the Minam Store, the Wallowa River continues for another ten miles before its confluence with the Grande Ronde River. If you are interested in experienceing this beautful designated Wild and Scenic river corridor consider joining us for a multi-day guided rafting trip. Information for these trips can be found on our Grande Ronde Rafting page.
